Frequently asked questions about F2F tandem learning

You can log in via Stud.IP. There, please add the Sprachtandem-Widget on the left under "Actions/Add Widgets". 

You can sign up for multiple tandem partnerships on Stud.IP, but keep in mind how much time you actually have available for learning.

The precondition for this is that your partner is studying at Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Non-students can register by e-mail at the tandem office.

You can register for a Face-to-Face Tandem at any time. E-Tandem and Videotandem partnerships are semester-dependent.

You will receive information about the further procedure via Stud.IP.

You should first get to know each other and agree on what and how you want to learn together. After you have met once or twice, you should come to the language learning consultation. There you will find out all the other important information.

You receive the ECTS credits independently of your tandem partner.

Here you can see what you have to do for ECTS credits. 

You can also come separately. However, we recommend attending the language learning consultation together.

You can come to the consultation hours of the tandem team without registration. Ms. Schelm and Ms. Manrique have fixed consultation hours and arrange appointments via Stud.IP or email.

Due to the current Corona situation, all language learning consultations are conducted via video conference (BiGBlueButton). To block an appointment in Stud.IP, you have to click on the name of the lecturer within the tandem event (TA code) and select a day and time under "Sprechstunden".

You can get advice from various language learning counsellors.

A submission is possible at any time after reaching the prescribed five to eight meetings by e-mail. But at the latest

for the winter semester: in the middle of March
for the summer semester: in the middle of September.

The certificate can be collected from the secretary's office II, room H102, approximately one week after the tandem portfolio has been handed in.

You can get your certificate from Ms Pelamatti in room H102 (Secretariat II).

Due to the current Corona situation, the Leibniz Language Center is closed to the public until further notice. For the issue of certificates of performance ("Schein"), please refer to the notes listed here.  

On Fridays from 13:30 to 16:30, room 302 is available for you. Here you have the opportunity to work with your tandem partner on computers with learning programmes and can get access to further (online) material. A tutor is available to answer any questions you may have.
