If you are not a zero beginner, either a certificate of achievement from the immediately preceding course or a passed placement test at the required level must be presented at the first session for the language courses in the area. In case of doubt, the teacher may also conduct an oral placement test (see also our guidelines).
- The department offers general language courses of at least 4 SWS between A1 and B1 level. After completing the course programme in the department, students can continue to work on their language skills in tandem and in other forms of autonomous learning.
- We offer the native language programme in Turkish at level B1.
- We focus on communicative, task- and project-orientated language teaching.
- Language training is based on the UNIcert® training and certification system.
- For us, language acquisition is also the key to understanding culture, regional studies and mentality.
- We support the lessons by using multimedia learning and teaching materials.
- From level A2.1, we supplement our courses with tandem work via video. This gives course participants the opportunity to exchange ideas with students in the target country. Our aim is to promote interculturality through course-integrated tandems.
